I have a Yahoo Mail account and a domain provided by Yahoo Small Business. Receiving email from the Yahoo hosted domain requires a Yahoo ID. So messages sent to %26quot;yahoo_id@yahoo.com%26quot; and %26quot;myname@mydomain.com%26quot; both end up in my Yahoo Mail Inbox. Both email addresses are protected by SpamGuard and it works great. However, if I filer by %26quot;To/Cc header%26quot; to put mail from my domain in a separate folder, ALL of the spam gets through!

Is there a way to filter incoming email by %26quot;To/Cc header%26quot; after the spam has been removed? As it is now all email that matches my filter is sent to my folder regardless if it is spam or not.

I think the issue here is that the domain which your mom using may have been having problems. Mostly the domains which says they provide emailing facility will be closed very soon because of lack of space and management of may addreses.

Many people asked me this question numerous times. It is a confusing matter I guess :)

But let me tell you this:

When you have a form, you need to submit the data you have entered the form, correct?

Ok now, we have 2 different ways of submissions.

POST - sends it in the body of the submission.

GET - send the form input in an URL

Ok, now you would tell me what that means.

Think of POST as HIDDEN. It would be hidden data embedded within the form.

Think of GET as your variables are attached to your URL.

Here is an example:

Okay your wondering what the difference from POST is to GET, GET can be used in Forms, links , anything that is a link.. POST is only for forms... POST is used to store secure data, so the user cannot change the contents while sending it in the programming script.

Flash does not always generate a professional-looking website. In fact, it can actually detract from a site%26#039;s cleanness. It should only be used when absolutely necessary. If you take a look at some of the best websites, they%26#039;re all simple - it%26#039;s designed to effectively present the information without distraction.

With that in mind, web design is an art. You will need lots of practice before you will get anything decent. You don%26#039;t really need any software, but they can help.

Pushing all of that aside, here I go:

Dreamweaver - easy-to-use WYSIWYG website editor; you lay out your page and put your contents in it with this

Photoshop or Fireworks - use this to make graphics for you website

Flash - if you need some very interactive things, use this

ColdFusion - can be used for scripts; not recommended - use an open-source alternative instead (eg. PHP)

All of the software are very complicated and will require a few books to understand. Go to your favorite bookstore and get books on the applications you%26#039;re using. The only ones you should be able to figure out without extensive training are Dreamweaver and Photoshop. That should be enough for basic websites containing only content.

I also suggest you learn HTML and use Nvu instead of Dreamweaver in order to make more standard-compliant websites. Other than that, good luck.

Sounds a bit like a mashup to me (search for that if you don%26#039;t know what I mean). You are going to need to understand the document model of the pages you are reading (and hopefully they will be consistent each time you access them).

The yahoo connection manager from the Yahoo! UI Library allows you to read data from an external source and then navigate it.

An alternative if it is available would be to get RSS feeds from each of the pages and process them with something like yahoo pipes.

Malicious criminals wasted no time riding on the tragic and shocking news of

former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto%26#039;s assassination, as Websense

discovered a number of malicious Web sites that came up on Google search results

using the simple search term %26quot;benazir%26quot;. These sites attempt to infect users who

want to know more about the unfortunate incident.

TrendLabs researchers found that one of the sites in question indeed has an

embedded malicious JavaScript redirect which Trend Micro detects as

JS_AGENT.AEVE.

The malicious script downloads a Trojan (already detected TROJ_SMALL.LDZ), which

in turn downloads more malicious files, namely WORM_HITAPOP.O and

TROJ_AGENT.AFFR.

Upon further investigation, however, TrendLabs found that there is a host of

other news sites and blogs taking advantage of this news.

Moreover, the malicious JavaScript is apparently not exclusive to news sites -

it is also present embedded in other websites with a broad scope of topics and

interests. There are many other sites that have been possibly compromised (or

that include the malicious JavaScript), including Autoworld, Vino, Dogpile, MSN,

BlogSpot (yes, again), etc.

According to Trend Micro Advanced Threats Researcher Paul Ferguson, searching

for this same malicious JavaScript code URL (the malicious script) yields 4,240

results. If the search is narrowed down to also include %26quot;benazir%26quot;, there would

be only 103 results.

All related malicious URLs are already being blocked by the Content Security

Team and are thus inaccessible to Trend Micro customers.

From a purely graphic design standpoint you%26#039;ve come up with an excellent site. Your monochrome color scheme works very well, your content is laid out in a logical and clean fashion, and the whole thing pops. I really like it. I /would/ suggest you get rid of the evil wannabe-70%26#039;s-green-screen font on your nav buttons. It%26#039;s difficult to read, and you never want navigation to be difficult to read. Other than that I think you%26#039;ve got a real winner here, assuming it doesn%26#039;t break loudly in IE.

When the income flow becomes better and the business grows, then you can start rethinking your legal structure and consider incorporating. But it is not necessary at the start.

I had taken broadband connection from them. It gets disconnected every 2 months and takes 1 month to repair, despite repeated reminder calls to all the people in call center as well as the local vendor.

I believe you can get the MX records through the domain control panel. Look for the area where you can configure name servers and redirects and I believe the MX records are at the bottom of that page.

Htaccess - blocking access to folders?

On my domain, my host created a folder www.domain.com/stats

As per the host, this folder needs to stay, but as it stands now, anyone can access the data in this folder.

I want to prevent everyone (including myself and search engines) from accessing anything in this data from a browser.

Would someone have some htaccess code to allow me to do this. I prefer not to go the route of htaccess usernames/passwords, I just want to prevent all access.

If not, create a free Gmail account to poll your domain via the POP3 settings provided by your host.

and add your POP3 settings. Gmail will pull down your email and you can view it.

Question For An Experienced Web Developer Regarding FTP..?

I am rather novice when it comes to site creation. I created a basic info site that has 4 pdf%26#039;s and one mp3 file on it.

When a viewer clicks on the link for the mp3 it opens and just plays the audio over the main page, thus not allowing the visitor to both listen to the audio and continue to browse.

That said -- What I would ideally like to do is set it up so that the viewer, when clicking on the mp3 link, are able to listen to the audio (on a 2nd page?) all while being able to maneuver our site.

Would I use my hosts FTP to create a 2nd domain to host JUST the audio? And if so -- How do I set an audio link on Page #1 that would route the visitor to Page #2?

I%26#039;ve viewed pages on my cheap Sprint phone and the pages look fine. I read something about the whole iphone craze...and this one web designer seems to think that wireless devices might change the web designing as we know it....did I miss something?

There could be a temporary change in method to accomadate those with slow hardware and connections, but most major sites have the ability to know what browser you are using and in effect tell them if it is mobile or not. If it is mobile, you could be directed to a site with smaller files and a leaner build. This will only be temporary considering how fast hardware is advancing. The web has always been about accomadating for old hardware and slow connection speed for audience purposes. Nothing new. The .mobi group has set standards for slow mobile and it is lame. I refuse to turn the clock back.

A lot of times especially with more complicated layouts of websites they look completely different or ugly on cell phones. For example, what if your cell phone browser is set to not load images. This might mess up the alignment and position of a lot of text on the screen. Depending on the phone%26#039;s browser, web sites can come out completely different (info in different order or even missing).

This depends mainly on if the web site designer has planned to have a specific version for lower level browsers or if they have two versions of each page which can be dynamically generated which is cell phone compatible. For example, news websites have an option to view printable version of this article, this dynamically generates a page with just text formatted simply and with the most important information about the site for resource purposes.

I wanted to create the web program for this using JavaScript, but I want to know the difference between that and Java, which one would be easier for other computers to interpret, which best fits the situation, and which is easier to learn.

JavaScript is definitely a good language to use (and therefore, to learn) for client-side web applications, and if one prefers, in server-side ASP. No offence to Java fans, JavaScript is more suitable for client-side applications because it is faster, and it is less likely that JavaScript is disabled by browsers than the Java applets. Java is a strongly typed C++ - like language whose most widely used application is client-side programming as applets (and as server-side in JSP). JavaScript is also C++ - like to some extent, but is not as strongly typed as Java or C++. JavaScript is a solution for writing event-handlers for form input components in DHTML which offers faster development and better integration with server-side applications such as PHP, ASP and ASP.NET.

I am not sure if client-side application is enough for what you intending to design. May be server-side applications such as PHP and ASP could do better (while you may still need to use JavaScript in some parts). As I know C# and PHP well, I would use either C# in ASP.Net or PHP for server-side, and not JavaScript as in ASP (or ASP.Net). But it would be your choice to use JavaScript. Good luck.

so the best way to do your program is to use a server side scripting language. a server side scripting language reside on the server hosting your site so the browser has no control over your application: try to look for PHP, ASP, CFML...

once more, many people think that javascript and java are similar!! no they are not and they%26#039;re not created by the same company.
