I need to buy an Url, but I%26#039;m not sure what site i should be going to to buy one. I don%26#039;t want a free website that requires me to sign under a host domain. I want to own one. I%26#039;ve read many articles, and although they tell me how much i should expect to pay ($8/9), they never actually direct me to the site that i should be visiting. If anyone has an existing successful site, or knows anyone with one, please give me some advice as to where i shoudl be looking for my own Url. Thx
I need to Buy an Url?
GoDaddy.com
I need to Buy an Url?
It is called a Domain Name.
try
http://geocities.yahoo.com/
Other Replys:First of all you need to buy a domain name not a URL.
Network Solutions is the 100 pound gorilla, but there are lots of discount registrars. I use Yahoo, my wife has used Go Daddy. They%26#039;re usually bundled with some kind of hosting as well.
Have fun.
Other Replys:I believe the technical term you are looking for is %26quot;Domain%26quot; - e.g. Yahoo.com / UnBore.Me.UK / jduck1979.co.uk etc
A URL is the full length thing you tap into your browser to get to it, e.g. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/ or http://www.1and1.co.uk/?k_id=3794345 or http://www.sedo.co.uk/?partnerid=36565 for instance
For full on domains / webhosting complete, I highly recommend %26quot;1%26amp;1 Internet Ltd%26quot;
UK = http://www.1and1.co.uk/?k_id=3794345
North America = http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=3794345
To just buy a domain you can point to hosting anywhere (or transfer to a host), I recommend SEDO: http://www.sedo.co.uk/?partnerid=36565
Both these companies are the world%26#039;s biggest %26amp; best in their fields (and both owned by UNITED INTERNET)
