No you should not need to do this at all. Usually all you have to do is to tell the router to gets its wan IP address using dhcp and enter a user id and password if you are using pppoe for a dsl connection.
I am setting up a router for my i-net . do i have to enter a domain and or host name...???
I assume you have the router to share internet between computers. Make sure when you do the Network Connection wizard on both computers that they have the same Workgroup name. The wizard will ask you to specify a workgroup name.
